Miss Rodeo Idaho Freya Ford
Huckleberry cheesecake, fine wines, cowboy storyteller, barbequed ribs, saddles, friends, and a crown fit for a princess was all part of Miss Rodeo Idaho coronation ceremonies held at the landmark Western Pleasure Guest Ranch on Saturday, January 24, 2009! Sandpoint’s very own Freya Ford is Miss Rodeo Idaho for 2009 and what an outstanding young woman to represent Idaho. I have known Freya since she was a quiet horse-loving kid that hung out on my Mom’s dock with Johnny Boy, Cherie, and the rest of the kids that love swimming in Lake Pend Oreille. I cheered her on with the rest of the participants in the Junior Miss Scholarship program, clapped when she rode by in all the 4th of July parades, and was emceeing the Rally in the Valley when she rode with Idaho Governor C. L. “Butch” Otter.
Freya is the first Miss Rodeo Idaho north of Lewiston in the history of the program! She is a Sandpoint High School graduate with a college degree and a passion for people, horses, and programs that inspire both kids and adults. Freya is available to participate in events we work on here in the Idaho panhandle and you should invite her! Keep track of Freya’s 2009 journey as Miss Rodeo Idaho by checking in on her blog as she travels around Idaho serving as one of the best young ambassadors the gem state has ever known. I’m not surprised that Freya’s coronation event sold out. Everyone loves her. There was probably a lot of people that would rather she held the event in Boise and it might have been attended by way more folks but instead she chose to surround herself with the ones who have loved and supported her efforts over the years. Idaho will fall in love with Freya as she travels the state and will share in her success. Please remember that it takes funding to be Miss Rodeo Idaho and if you belong to a club or organization that believes in recognizing hard work, character, and inspiring young leaders; don’t hesistate to contact Freya to give your financial support.
In the meantime, check out her blog often and oh yeah, “enjoy the ride“.

Dan! Thank you so much for your support and kind words. It really does mean the world to me. I’m so glad you could be a part of my event and I look forward to working with you all year long!
It is a joy to watch young leaders develop and take their place representing themselves and their families in such an exemplary manner. You have grown beyond that to become a young woman who is using her extraordinary talents to inspire children, affirm a community’s years of support, and promote the best that Idaho has to offer.
Idaho is proud of you!
Freya you’re an amazing person to get along with. i hope you are having a great time representing the state of idaho as their miss rodeo idaho…email me sometime brlrcr_2424@hotmail.com this is my new email address
Hi, I just wanted to comment that I was at the Spokane Lilac Festival Parade and saw Freya. Her name was on the horse poo wheelbarrow. I thought that was cool because my name is Freya, only I’m not Freya Ford. I’m Freya Lemon (No, my parents aren’t crazy, and they aren’t so into substance abuse) from Spokane. Just thoought it was kind of cool that i saw someone with such an uncommon anme as myself. The name Freya comes from Norse mythology. She’s the goddess of love and beauty -or, depending on the info you’re getting, she can be interpreted as the goddess of war and death. Norse mythology is pretty neat. You all should check it out.
Hi Freya Lemon … it’s good to meet you. You have a fun and interesting name and I appreciate the background on the name “Freya”. You enjoyed wonderful weather for the Lilac Festival parade in Spokane, Washington which is always the same weekend as our fabulous “Lost in the 50’s” celebration in Sandpoint, Idaho. We are all so proud of Freya and she is an outstanding representative for the Gem state as Miss Rodeo Idaho. Everyone who knows our Freya would probably go with the “love & beauty” versus the “war and death” because she is beautiful inside and out. Thanks again for stopping by bashful-dan.com
