Volunteers are needed on August 4, 5, 6, and 7 and then again on tear down day August 19th, 2008. In return you can earn t-shirts and tickets to any of the outstanding shows on the 2008 calendar.   Here is the lineup.   Call me today at 290-2249 to sign up.

The 26th Annual Festival at Sandpoint Summer Concert series kicks off on Thursday, August 7th with Smokey Robinson. Imagine a night under the stars on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille listening to a living American music legend. Then follow the tracks of his tears to PHAT PHRIDAY with the double-header of Brett Dennen and Donavon Frankenreiter who show off the best in progressive alternative music. Super Saturday August 9th, is super sweet with the Richie Furay Band followed by The Marshall Tucker Band and Pure Prairie League and that may be the night I chuck my 8-track player and buy a DVD. Sunday you can treat the kids to clowns, face painting and games after they try out the Classical Instrument Petting Zoo (the clarinets don’t bite back). Then they enjoy the Family Concert “Puss ‘n Boots” featuring the Spokane Youth Orchestra and Sandpoint’s very own Studio One Dancers.

The second week of the Festival will kick with The Waifs, a folk rock band from Australia, on Thursday, August 14, 2008 and you will be “Closer to Free” after you spend the second half of the night with the BoDeans! (You remember 1993 right?). Tomorrow People will be all regged up and ready to dance when world music icon Ziggy Marley dominates the stage on Friday, August 15th. August 16th is being billed as SUPER COUNTRY SATURDAY starring Wynonna with her special guests Bomshel. The Festival Finale on Sunday, August 17th reaches its zenith with the Grand Finale Concert: Bravo Beethoven! Experience the Spokane Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Gary Sheldon. Fireworks will signal the end of a truly magnificient 26th season of the Festival at Sandpoint.

Call me at (208) 290-2249 if you want earn your way to the hottest concerts in Idaho this summer. I will hook you up with RJ but you need to be serious, industrious, and keep the commitment. Should be easy with the payoff that’s being offered. You can email me at DYoung6962@aol.com also.
