Happy meal with a toy? Forgeddaboutit. Brian Bowman dropped in from Washington and pulled a 19 pound Mackinaw out of Lake Pend Oreille yesterday. That should make
him the winner of the Mac competition for this year’s K & K (Kamloops & Kokanee) week. Sponsored by our Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club, the K&K spring derby is a bit more famous and popular than the Kentucky Derby in these parts. Okay, write this down. He used an Apex lure to attract this 37 incher. Now that’s a Big Mac.
Check out the 41 inch Mac that Mark Hulls landed to take first place in one K&K Derby that weighed 25 lbs, 4 oz. and wear a bib so you’re not embarrassed when you start to drool.

Kokanee Glacier Beer and land locked salmon are both popular in British Columbia, Canada. When I was a kid we did not the beer but we did have an abundance of the land locked salmon. Not so today and a continuous effort is lead by the LPOIC to bring back the good old days.
