The Bunny Hop
The snow stayed late and Easter came early to Sandpoint, Idaho in 2008. The Sandpoint Lions Club continued their treasured Easter tradition with one of the largest and fastest egg hunts on earth. Memorial Field in Sandpoint was full of snow along with most of Lakeview Park so the egg hunt was confined to the Bonner County Historical Museum area, parking lots, and the well treed area on the west side of the park. Check out the photo album with all the pictures at www.bashfuldansidaho.com/ and click on the Easter Egg Hunt 2008 link on your left. This year the Bunny that just keeps on going and going added an Assistant Junior Bunny when Alexander decided that rather than scramble for eggs he would like his own outfit and to help hand out eggs to the wee, small hunters. I was so proud of him when he saw a little boy crying as he was leaving and took him an egg. A big ole chocolate carmel egg. That was truly in the spirit of Easter and the egg hunt.
Some of the little kids really like to pet the bunny and have their picture taken and some of them are overwhelmed by the giant rabbit. The parents and grandparents that take their egg-eaters to the park each year are part of a proud tradition carried on by one of the greatest organizations in Sandpoint - the Lions Club.
When you see a member of the Sandpoint Lions Club be sure to thank them for their service and if you would like to know more about their organization and how you can join or support go to this link: http://www.sandpointlionsclub.org/
Thank you Lions! You rock!
