A Friend Indeed

….HELPS THE FRIEND IN NEED….Thanksgiving through New Year….what a blur of happiness. We had many volunteers step up to give much needed rides to shut-ins, wheelchair bound, snowed in, and lonely people. We have one lady in particular who is snowed in at Garfield Bay and seems to have virtually zero help. No meal or assistance on Thanksgiving and then shut in for 21 days until Ron who owns a local cab company in Sandpoint picked her up and took her to an assisted living holiday open house and then picked her up and took her home afterwards.

She was in Sandpoint on the first and spent the night at the old Motel 6, did a months worth of shopping, and called to say that she was plowed out but she had no way to move her groceries from the car to the trailer. She was afraid her eggs would freeze. I don’t know what challenges you today but is it something as fundamental as being in a wheelchair and you can’t get your food from your car to your kitchen?

We have not been able to find anyone in the Garfield Bay area to assist this woman and we need a volunteer(s) to raise their hand. Call me at 290-2249 if you can help this elderly woman. We also need many more daytime drivers and volunteer drivers that can go to Cda and Spokane.
