Santa Point Ho Ho Ho!

The holiday season in Sandpoint, Idaho is off to a terrific start. Thanksgiving brought out many volunteers and underlined the need for new people to raise their hands. We even took a call on Thanksgiving day from an elderly shut in at the bay who told us she was in a wheelchair and could not reach her oven to cook a meal even if she felt good enough.

Foster kids were moved around, meals were prepared, clothing and food donations were made because many of you stepped up to help. We need more help with volunteers for the RIDES PROGRAM who can use their own car and fuel to transport our friends and neighbors to their appointments during the day.

We have one dialysis ride that goes every Tues-Thu-Sat and needs to leave town by 5:30 a.m. to be in Post Falls by 6:45 a.m. and then the driver needs to return and pickup at 11:00 a.m. This is a great ride to provide because you can use the 4.5 hours to do some errands in Spokane or backtrack to Cda.

The annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at the Jeff Jones Town Square was Friday after Thanksgiving and the crowd enjoyed holiday music, cookies, beverages, the superior SHS Choir, and a rendition of the Santa Point Song by Clem Hackworthy.

December is nearly upon us and that every day need that some of our families have in Sandpoint will become more pronounced as Christmas approaches. If you are looking for ways to serve for an hour here and there or can volunteer for some of the daytime rides (especially Cda or Spokane rides) please call or leave me a message here. You have new friends to meet.
